Crossville Murder

MEDIA RELEASE

For Immediate Release                                        October 26, 2015

Crossville Murder

Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:

Sheriff Jimmy Harris states that on Saturday October 24th at approximately 6:00pm Deputy Troy Brown and Crossville Police Officer Jason Brown responded to a domestic call on County Road 534 Crossville. Crossville Police Officer Jason Brown and Geraldine Police Officer Josh Jones had gone to the same address for a disturbance between neighbors earlier that day.

When Deputy Brown and Officer Brown arrived they found Brulin Richard Pritchett, 46 of Crossville in possession of a weapon. Pritchett was ordered to put the weapon down and he was placed in the patrol car. The Deputy and Officer was advised by a witness that Michael Alan Chapman, 47 of Crossville had been shot. Geraldine Officer Jones arrived on scene and once the victim was located the scene was secured and investigators were called. Investigators are still interviewing witnesses and neighbors. This is still an ongoing investigation.

Sheriff Harris says “This is a terrible thing that has happened and our thoughts and prayers go out to the families. The Deputies and Officers did a great job on this case. A special thanks to Crossville and Geraldine Police, they have responded to this road on several different occurrences for us.”
