                            Juvenile Brings Gun to School

Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:

            Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports that on November 12th Ruhama School facility got word that a student over 12 had brought a gun to school. School facility took this information to the SRO Mary Waters. SRO Waters and the School facility did a search and was able to find anything at that time. After a search this morning and questioning the student, he admitted to bringing a gun to school one day last week. SRO Waters then notified the Juvenile Probation Office. This case has been turned over to the Juvenile Probation Office and the School Board.

            Sheriff Harris states “I have been in contact with Superintendent Hugh Taylor and this is an ongoing investigation that is being handled within his office and ours. Ruhama staff and SRO Waters did an outstanding job after receiving the information. We are pleased that no one was injured during this situation. All of our SRO’s do an outstanding job and we are fortunate to have them at all of our schools.”

            No more information will be given on this case.
