Henagar Man Shot and Killed

 

 

Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:

 

 

           Sheriff Jimmy Harris states that on November 14th DeKalb County E911 received a call around 10pm that a 48 year old white male had been shot. When Henagar Police Department and Deputies arrived on the scene they found the male subject had been shot and was apparently deceased. DeKalb County Coroner Tom Wilson was called to the scene to transport the body to Alabama department of Forensic science for an autopsy ordered by District Attorney Mike O'Dell.

           Sheriff Harris states "we are still investigating this incident and we have one person of interest being held in the Jackson County Jail on unrelated charges at this time. But we have two other persons of interest that was placed in the vehicle with the alleged shooter.            

          "We are continuing through out the day to question anyone that was a witness or a person of interest in this case. Please contact the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, Jackson County Sheriff's Office or Henagar Police Department with any information that you may have. Any information received will remain confidential. At this time no other information will be released due to the sensitivity of this case.          

           "I would like to thank Henagar Police Department, Henagar Fire Department, DeKalb County District Attorney Mike O'Dell, DeKalb County Deputies and Investigators, DeKalb County Coroner Tom Wilson, and Jackson County Sheriif's Office and Investigators for working through the night with us on this case."
