Man Dies in House Fire

Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:

            On February 13th at approximately 4:10 a.m. DeKalb County Deputies responded to a call of a house fire with a death on County Road 239 outside Valley Head on the Alabama Georgia line. Dade County Georgia received the E911 call so Dade County Fire, South Dade Fire and Dade County Sheriff’s Deputies were the first to arrive on the scene. Fire units from Trenton, Valley Head, and Mentone fire departments were also there to assist in fire suppression. Investigators from DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and the State Fire Marshall Office were called in and the cause of the blaze is still under investigation. The body believing to be Travis Nathaniel Clark, 38 of Valley Head was found inside the residence the body was transported by DeKalb County Coroner’s office to Department of Forensic Science in Huntsville for an autopsy.
