Tragic Accident

 Tragic Accident

 

Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports that on March 17th E911 received a call about an incident on County Road 805 in the Flat Rock area. When DeKalb Ambulance Service and DeKalb County Deputies arrived on the scene they located the victim, Mamie Hubbard Bowen, 57 of Flat Rock in the pin where there was animals. When the medic went over to attempt to check on the victim a black bull came toward them in an aggressive manner, the bull was then removed from the area. The victim Bowen was unresponsive and appeared to have been attacked by the bull. Coroner Tom Wilson was called to the scene, Agricultural and Rural Crimes Unit and the District Attorney were contacted.

 

            Sheriff Harris states “this was a tragic accident that happened. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends during this tragic time.”
