Two year Investigation Leads to Drug Arrest

MEDIA RELEASE

For Immediate Release                                                                             October 25, 2017

Two year Investigation Leads to Drug Arrest

A two-year joint investigation by the DeKalb County Drug Task Force and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) has concluded this week with the arrests of 34-year-old Roberto Flores and 35-year-old Carlos Lozano both of Calera, Al. Approximately 2.5 kilograms of methamphetamine “ICE” has been seized during the investigation.

A total of 9 individuals, all associates of Flores and Lozano, have been arrested on various charges throughout the course of this extensive investigation. Flores, Lozano, and their distribution ring are responsible for the dissemination of over 50 kilograms of methamphetamine in the northeast Alabama area. Flores and Lozano have been charged with Conspiracy and Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, and are in federal custody.

DeKalb County Chief Deputy and Drug Task Force Commander Michael Edmondson said, “We have been working this case from the bottom up for over two years, and we are confident that the arrests of Flores and Lozano will slow this line of meth distribution in our area. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of the partnership with the DEA team in this investigation. This has been a cooperative, thorough, and successful effort from start to finish.”
