Synthetic Drug Takedown

On May 7, 2014 After a 4 month long investigation into the synthetic marihuana (SPICE) Trafficking and Distribution, Agents of the DeKalb County Drug Task Force, the Fort Payne Police Department, DeKalb County Sheriff Office, Drug Enforcement Agency, Alcohol Beverage Control Board and United States Marshals conducted search warrants as well as arrest warrants throughout the City of Fort Payne as well as DeKalb County.  Those arrested are as follows:

Antonio D. Lockett: Conspiracy to Traffic and Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance.

Brad L McElrath: (2 counts) Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance

Troy Johnson: (2 counts) of Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance

Zachery T Croft: (2 Counts) of Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance

Noel Croft: (1) count of Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance

April Wiggins: (1) Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance

Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Octaves Javari Nash: Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

During a Search at Wiggins and Nash there was approximately 100 controlled pills seized as well as an undetermined amount of SPICE, Methamphetamine, Scales and one firearm.

During this search several items were seized that are possibly stolen from various locations in DeKalb County.

Sheriff Harris says “I am glad that all these agents came together, they did a great job working this case. I am also thankful for all the agencies, the House and the Senate that have past these Bills, and to Governor Bentley for signing them into Law. This is not the end this is only the beginning. We will continue to work day and night to try to protect our citizens of DeKalb County from these drugs.”
