Powell Bank Robbery Suspects Arrested

Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:

Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports the arrest of two individuals for the March 2013 Bank robbery in Powell. Ericson Lamar Snow, 24 of Gadsden was arrested on a Robbery 1st warrant from DeKalb County today. Snow was arrested in North Gadsden by DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators, Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit, Sheriff’s deputies assigned to the U.S. Marshals’ Gulf coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Gadsden Police Department and the FBI’s Safe Street Task Force. Snow also had a large amount of crack cocaine in his possession at the time of his arrest. Additional charges are pending. Also charged in the bank robbery was Jamichael Keyaman Hawkins, 26 of Gadsden. Hawkins is currently in the Etowah County Jail for robbery. A hold for DeKalb County has been placed on Hawkins for the Powell bank robbery.

Harris States “I am so glad to have these individuals in jail for the robbery in our county. These men went in and terrified those women with guns and pushing them around. Both suspects have a history of violent crimes and we were glad to get the warrants for them after District Attorney Mike O’Dell reviewed the evidence and case file. These men have been suspects for over a year but we got some evidence back from the FBI Lab and kept working the case. I can’t tell how much I appreciate all the help from Etowah County and the FBI that we received in this case. We interviewed dozens of people last summer in this case and it all finally came together. It is a safer community with these men off the streets.”
