Intoxicated Female Arrested

Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:

Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports that on the evening of July 5th deputies responded to a call that was made about an intoxicated female stealing items from a store at Hammonds Crossroads. When deputies arrived they found Fyffe Police Officers already on the scene. Officers found Christine Saunders, 45 of Fyffe, intoxicated with items from the store on her person. Saunders had a horse tied up outside of the store that we believe she was riding. We recovered 3 cans of Keystone light in a Walmart bag tied on the saddle horn. The horse was later returned to the owner who did not want to press charges. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office is working with the store owner on other charges. Saunders was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication, Illegal Possession of a Prohibited Beverage and was transported to the DeKalb County Detention center.
