For Immediate Release August 15, 2016 Two Individuals Busted for Drugs
Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and Drug Task Force has received several tips about drugs and possible stolen items at a residence on County Road 101 in the Mount Vernon community. When DeKalb County Deputies and Drug and Major Crime Task Force, Cherokee Sheriff’s Deputies, Leesburg and Cedar Bluff Police Officers went to the residence where they were given consent to search the residence. During the search they recovered, a stolen car, motorcycle, 4-wheeler and a lawnmower all from Etowah County thefts and methamphetamine. As a result Rickey Mack Dowdy, 40 of Collinsville was arrested and charged with Trafficking in any Illegal Drug, 2 counts of receiving stolen property 2nd, receiving stolen property 3rd Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Dowdy also has warrant from Etowah County. William Allen Hyfield, 33 of Attalla was also arrested and charged with 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Sheriff Harris says “These arrests are the result of our Deputies and Drug Task Force working together with other agencies on this case. I am glad we were able to recover these stolen items for the victims.”
