Four Individuals Arrested for Drugs
Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:
Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports that on March 18th DeKalb County Investigators went to a residence located on McCurdy Avenue in Rainsville looking for information involving a theft that occurred in Henagar. While at the residence investigators discovered Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia. The following individuals were arrested Leslie Suzanne Spears, 30 of Fort Payne, Carl Franklin Mills, 51 of Rainsville, Joshua Dakota Whitmire, 23 of Rainsville and charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. George Lee Ledford, 38 of Fort Payne was also arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Use False ID to Obstruct Justice. All individuals was transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center.
Sheriff Harris states “Thanks to the Investigators, Rainsville Police Department and DHR for doing the outstanding job they do and being very observant on noticing the false ID trying to be pulled off. Investigators work 100’s of cases a year and a lot of the time it is the small things that make the case possible for the prosecutors to reach as many guilty vertices as we do at the Sheriff’s Office.”
