Weekend Arrest
On October 20th Deputies conducted a traffic stop on County Road 709 and US highway 11 in Valley Head, as Deputies were talking to the driver and passenger’s one of the Deputies observed one of the passengers to be hiding something. As a result of the search of the vehicle Deputies found a small bag of meth and a syringe. Both Alax Wayne Harrell, 26 of Jacksonville and Jimmy Lee Worthey, Jr. 38 of Mentone were arrested and charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of controlled substance. On October 22nd Deputies conducted another traffic stop on County Road 107 and County Road 232 in Fort Payne, which resulted in 2 individuals Donald Allen Davis, 44 of Fort Payne and Larry Lebron Tidwell, 35 of Henagar being arrested and charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. Tidwell was also charged with giving false identification to law enforcement officer. Tidwell was found with two plastic bags of meth on his person and a glass pipe along with other items were found in the vehicle. Also on October 22nd DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and DeKalb County 911 received multiple phone calls about a breaking and entering a vehicle and an attempt to breaking and entering into a residence in the Ider community. Ider Police Officer responded to a call at a residence on County Road 141 in Ider, when Officer arrived he observed Jeffery Jason Ray White Jr., 20 of Flat Rock sitting in a vehicle and appeared to be under the influence of some substance. The Officer ran the plates on the vehicle and it came back that it was stolen out of Dade County Georgia. At this time DeKalb County Deputies came to assist with the arrest of White. White was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property 1st. Dade County was contacted to let them know that the stolen vehicle had been recovered. Chief Deputy Edmondson says “Deputies and Ider Officer did a great job on being observant and in the recovery of the stolen vehicle. We are glad to have these offenders off the streets and no one was hurt in the attempted break-ins.”
